What happens when there is no more snow for Creative types to shred on?

YD X STA X HC X RIP.

With a sadness, it seems one of the greatest, authentic bands to have ever represented Hertfordshire are disbanding.

Your Demise, you made such a massive impact, and I’m mighty proud of all that you achieved.

To seal the deal, they’ve made great use of Social Media and produced a humble and honest goodbye.

You Repped Hard, Boys.

Game Of Thrones.

- “Why’s a Pirate called a Pirate? Because they…”
- “AAARRRRGGHH! Don’t Tell That Crap Joke!”

Game of Thrones, the hit HBO show, smashed the record for the most pirated TV show ever, for the premiere of Season 3.

But why are so many of you still being pirates? Do you know?

Try and understand why you do it by following the link below.

Vine.

So are you using Vine yet? Do you know what it is? Do you realise how much it could revolutionise social media? Do you also realise it could be a self-perpetuating fad? Regardless of what you think, let us take a step back and appreciate those who creatively open their minds in order to produce something meaningful out of something random.

Start With Why.

I’m going to lay my cards out on the table.

I’m not the heaviest user of tumblr. I came in a couple of years ago with the intention of writing about UK Electronic music and lifestyle brands.

I did for a bit, too.

I then got a job in Digital, an industry which I feel blessed to work in. I found it only right to rebrand my blog to help document the digital landscape.

I did for a bit, too.

Piece by piece an idea formed in my head. I found I was questioning the systems and tools that fed me. I found that my eye on the Digital ecosystem was one of cynicism and Charlie Brooker-ness. And so as much as I love to comment on the positivity of new media on culture and society, I also find it important to turn around and punch this wave which everyone so blindly surfs, offering a point of contrast, going against the grain.

I want to encourage thought. I want to help things be seen in ways which you might not otherwise consider. I want to add altruistic value to this world, which is now flooded with meaningless, digital dialogue. But I wanted it to be as consumable as possible for the reader, and a simple tumblr format just didn’t do it for me.

So I moved to WordPress; and you can see my site here, if you want.

But if not, don’t worry. There’s more important things below. Not as in, I have more important things to say, but more that I want to offer you the thoughts of someone who has changed the way I think.

I still use tumblr, as is evident by the fact that you’re reading this (he says as he hopes someone might actually read it someday). There’s no tight theme to it. I don’t intend to make it the next ‘Boris Johnson Hanging From Things’, or the new ‘Benedict Cumberbatch as Pokemon’ . I don’t have the time nor talent to come up with something as creative or quirky as Jim’ll Paint It or Text From Dog.

But I do hope to build a bit of interest.

It’s Digitally, culturally focused, and its no lie that I love music and lifestyle brands, and so that’s what I do. And I want to catch you. I want you to see a quirky GIF of a NES, or a Supreme Video based in London. They both encapsulate my interest, and they’re both loosely relevant to my blog. And so if you dig the pic, or quick bit of “Soho-hip” digital content, then it is my hope you might be open to coming on a bit of a deeper journey with me into similar topics.

But it’s cool if you’re not.

So there you go. This is about as honest as I’ve ever been online, and I’m talking to you. Because if you’ve read this far down, then you care about the expression of others, and I thank you for it.

Now let me give you something. Block out the Memes, close your Facebook tab, and increase the sound. The video below has inspired me, and I hope it might inspire you.

Make sure everything you do in life has a purpose.

Start With Why.

Paranoia.

“Did you get my WhatsApp?”
“No, sorry, haven’t been online”
“Yes you have, it says you have”
“Honestly, I really haven’t”
“Why are you lying?”
“I’m not lying”
“But WhatsApp says you have! Why would WhatsApp lie to me?”
“It doesn’t want to lie to you. It’s technology”
“You’re not technology”
“This is ridiculous”
“I don’t think I want to see you tonight”
“Huh?!”
“Seriously. Call me when you decide to be an honest human being”.
